All before I lived here but my far better half lived down that way too. Mrs MacGloughlin now lives near us in the East End apparently, and 'er indoors has been telling me about Mr Toms (a fishmonger) and also the Grotto Cafe, called something else before then - I've got an aeriel photo somewhere from the 1930s of that streatch taken by Hewitt (Vince?) local aviator probably in your collection too Tony? |

| The Floral Hall was a great place. Much better than the shite thats there now. and would have probably cost a lot less to repair it rather than tear it down and build the events arena and the new Aquarium. Watch this space for the name of the parrot

| Seems to be called the Bowling Green, but I'll take a guess at the Prince of Wales near the foot of Vale Road -the only (current) pub I can think of with a door on the corner. |
