Cheshire Oaks Today 7 Feb 2023

The peg was frosty when I arrived and no fish were showing.

Things steadily warmed after a slow start, finished up with ten carp

Seven handsized and 3 weightbuilders, the heaviest was about four and a half pounds but doesn't look it on the photo,  all on double red maggot from the far bank except the last.

From what I could tell this was a decent result across the 9 fishing today but I bet tomorrow's matchmen (match there Wednesday) will fare better

I'd hoped to follow up previous discussion on the question of whether red maggots are as active as white but as the shop only had red so that experiment will have to wait

My better reading glasses fell apart yesterday, setting my tackle set up and taking photos was a challenge !!
Struggled doing photo inserts on the report too so it will have to do

Well worth the effort,the place looks well stocked.
I think after 5ft-6ft the red maggots are not visible,and just show up as black shapes.Apparently,red is not visible after a certain depth.

Well done NB looks a nice spot and lots of fish. Good pictures they look good through my glasses .so you must of done something right.

Did you go to "Specsavers" KD???

Great report and pictures just shows the good mixed sizes in the lake thanks for sharing the experience well done on the fish

Yeah, fish are up to the low teens in lbs, yet to see one in my landing net though!
