| Our Third visit to Cheshire Oaks Fisheries yesterday. After her watching me and doing coffee runs on the first two trips this time I'd bought Tina a Daiwa Ninja 9 foot feeder rod to try teemed with a Ninja reel. Fishing off one peg so Tina fished the near margin to our left and I cast across to the island, or at least I did until she started outfishing me! After an awful lot of rain in the previous few days I'd high hopes for worm with a small square of rubber band to keep it on the barbless hook but it seemed double pink maggot was still the fishes favourite so the worms got chopped and added to the cool water groundbait mixed with 2mm pellets and maggot. This time I'd gone for red hooks so they'd blend with the worm or pink maggot. Since the problem with the legs collapsing on my seatbox I've got some new knuckles for it as I can see a use for it but I've also got myself an NGT feeder chair and found it far more comfortable. _________________ we call it fishing not catching!

| Bloomin' Ninja! I packed her rod away first, that slowed her down a bit! Served me right when I then lost what felt like a very good fish, it fought deep and strongly, I'm sure what would have been the best fish of the day had got away from me. I'm hoping to get out Sea Fishing again very soon! _________________ we call it fishing not catching!

| Looks like you have found a decent 'no blanking venue' Did you make a mistake buying Tina a rod and reel? I like the bend in those Red Hooks,I got some myself. Those Drennan made up hooklengths on a plastic backing are handy, especially for me with my on cold days. I noticed on the Sonu Bait bottle that it's PVA friendly,I've had some success with PVA bags in the past. Our member FLUER said they are catching Squid off the Breakwater, might be time to buy a few squid jigs and stock up your bait freezer. |
