| With rag left over from his match at the weekend, Terry suggested we head to Holyhead yesterday evening to have a go for a few minis for the hunt. We arrived just after half past six and struggled to find many minis at all. We both had shannys, I had a couple of Rock Gobies, a Tompot and a LSSS. Terry had more Shannys, but no Rock Goby which he needed. He did eventually manage a LSSS and he found the only Pouting of the night. The rods we had cast out with bigger hooks remained untouched until it started getting dark. It was at this point I set a Conger rod up, which proved fruitful with this one of 9lb 14oz. The other rod was giving double headers of Dogs in the dark but overall it was a pretty poor session. Terry managed a small Starry Smoothie on his distance rod, but not on the prawns we had snared in the prawn trap we had over the side. This did however come up with a Goldsinney and a Butterfish in which was slightly annoying! |

| Shame about the two ounces, but a good session I reckon. Are you still allowed to drive along the breakwater? It's about 120 mls from Manchester, but I wouldn't mind having a bash if I could get the car near enough. Last time I was there I was hopping about like a spring chicken, but these days I'm more like a lame duck. |

We weren`t on the breakwater it was the fish dock, you can see on this one how close you can get the car. The breakwater has been closed to cars for a couple of years now and it`s a mile and a quarter walk. |

No, wasnt happy. Valvebounce. Follow the signs for Huws Gray from the roundabout at the ferry terminal and keep driving. When the road stops start fishing. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Holyhead/@53.3095351,-4.6269779,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x486434b66c1c0fed:0x248e9cd08cfb236f!8m2!3d53.309441!4d-4.633038 |
