I know it`s not a new fishing platform for us, but I can dream can`t I?

a bit of quick setting concrete one dark night and it could be!

A couple of ten ton loads of MOT would do,and a few members out with their shovels.

Interesting bit of news,I've been trying to picture the finished job.
Any plans on view in the council offices?
I was impressed at the job,and speed they did it at Llandulas a couple of years ago.
I fished off the blocked off slipway one hour either side of high tide.

I believe its a 2 year project, a long old time to keep dreaming.

Stopped by there tonight, its continuing to take shape, not sure what shape though, currently its almost looking like a harbour, a lagoon or a prehistoric fish trap

Yeah right! Could shorten it to "No Point"

passed again today, these works look different every time!

That's starting to look like a platform to me.
If they do like they did at Llandulas it might be pretty handy.
They put the big rocks in,and levelled the car park with 4" to dust.
If you think about it,it will have to have ends to the construction,it has to start and end somewhere.
Could end up a nice venue,with fishing off the end,and down the sides.

They will finish it then before they take the fences down put up a big sign NO FISHING

I noticed on one of the pics that they had a piledriver in there,that means they will pour concrete.That fish trap theory was probably the base for the concrete.
They only used big rocks at Llandulas,with no concrete base,so the structure
is going to be most probably a platform for something.

Really tried to see the details,but with the double fencing and fuzzy details beyond,I can't quite make it out.

Has anybody tried asking the council what they are doing, there will have to be plans available at the local council office, alternately the local paper, if you still have one!

below is the official artist's impression,
you can make out the steps in the near end. Not much room for a pendulum cast but room for one to fish off them I'd think ( maybe!)

Could have possibilities.When the sand fills the bottom edge of the rocks (if it does)
Depends how they grade the rocks I suppose i.e.Big rocks with smaller rocks filling some of the gaps might make it walkable.
Even one access path on and off the beach would be handy.
At Llandulas they have put a concrete slipway in the middle,but it's useless for launching,so it's probably for future maintainence access.
If you think about it,it will probably be the only access for plant machinery,which they will need in the future.

Good of you to drag this out for months, when the plan would have told all. Anyway from looking at the plan there seems to be a flat area on the first layer of rocks, and depending on how slippery they get, could offer fishing spots for part of the tide. It is certainly costing a heap of money. Thanks for the ongoing saga.

Pics from today, the finished rock revetment sloping to the westward end and the steps for beach access, the remaining works now are to raise the level of the promenade from Splash Point to the golf course.

Sounds logical to raise the prom level,but the setback might be that we won't be able to fish into the sea with the extra height gained.
Not without a 'desperate Dan Cast' Anyway.

The raised area will be impossible to fish, you'd be casting over the 30 metres of rocks.
