| Maybe a "how long is a piece of string question", but how far out do people cast out at splash point during high tide? Do you also cast next to those wooden groynes, or just out into the middle?

| A good rule of thimb over high at Splash Point is to whack it out as far as you can. Ideally hitting the gully near the end of the groynes. No need to get near the groynes. |

| Welcome to the forum Loads of Splash Point fishing reports HEREBut generally, low is best, with an hour after low being particulary productive, if not prolific. This time of year should see Whiting, Dabs, Flounder, Rockling, Codling and a slim chance of a late Bass. Lugworm seems to be the most populat bait here, but Notbad did have a half decent Codling here last year on Razor Fish. Worht trying any bait though, those Whiting don't appear to be too fussy. The bigger casters have a good chance of a fish over high, but it's a bit hit or miss for us mere mortals. Oh, darkness would increase your chances too, but do mind those gullys over low. |
