Flint 16th & 22nd

Venue - Flint Rock
Bait - fresh lug
Date - 16/08/2009

I had a call from a good friend of mine asking if he could join me at the local mark in Flint.

So armed with bait and rods we made the 10 minute journey.

On arriving Craigs priority was a cup of coffee before casting out.





Action was from the off, bites galore..




A couple of small eels were the only things caught today by Craig








Another trip out which was a blank for me, but well done craig.

Happy days..

Saturday the 22nd.
After working solid for two months Ritchie called me out of the blue and asked if i fancied a trip to Greenfield. Well you know what the answer to that was.......

We arrived at 10-30am as the tide was coming back in, so we set up our rods by the car.

We made our way to the righthand side of the dock.

After a good 5 minute walk we stumbled on this tidy mark.







This is a tidy spot, but with the strong pull from left to right meant even 6 ounce grippers were just comin back to the bank.

After a chat we moved back to the dock to try there, same problem again and loads of weed.

The only thing was a car drive to Flint again. Ritchie had not fished here before, so we made our way.








So the race began..




Bait was fresh lug and Frozen lug and on Waynes advice I was going to try the Peeler crab as well.

First cast for me was a tidy Eel













Not many bites but when they came it was mainly Eels, so i decided to try the peeler so wayne would not give me anymore stick

He was right
This beauty came to the Bank








So thanks Wayne good advice mate.

Ritchie had a blank but enjoyed the day itself.

Maybe i should change my name from Spaceman to Eel-man.

Two cracking days out with two top lads.

the block as we call it in greenfield. you only fish here when the tide is under 27 ft.
the reason you couldnt hold bottom was it was a 31.2 tide. go back there this weekend on the tiny tide's with crab and it'll fish it's nut's off. while the crab are moulting. your wasting your time with worm as the flats will only take crab.

Fished Prestatyn last night at Low ( My 3rd session of the day!)

2 fussy bites on lug mounted on 2/0 didn't connect, suspect they were eels:
Clive (from Connahs Quay ) fishing to my left had two good eels,
there must be something about you guys up the estuary and wrigglies!

Got to agree Mike, but to be fair he lives near the coast.
