Well Saturday morning arrived & Andrew myself & Blakey set off for a session & to pick up cart from a friend at marine drive Scarborough first stop the watermark café for a breakfast then as we had an hour to kill so did a recce on a few marks as marine was looking snaggier than ever anyway an hour & a conversation later We were advised to go to the Brigg. So off we went got there & set off down to find our mark ended up at green rock which was not where we wanted to be so a phone call was made & we set off back up the cliff boy was that hard work made our way back along the Brigg found the mark high nab & made our way down.Got set up & chucked in all on different baits of lug squid & peeler everyone was getting pestered by billets from the minute it hit bottom as high approached I decided to change tactics & fish cart baits & bang the rod tip went over I wound into it & it was solid but I could feel the fish so pulled for a break the rotten bottom did its job & I ended up winding a codling up 70-80ft of cliff my first cod from the shore since new years day 2012 not big but a codling none the less I was a happy chappie Andrew was next winching two more up the cliff then Blakey with two more there were a few small billet came up as well & a rockling the codling ranging from 1 3/4lb to 4lb 110z then it rained & the fog came down couldn't see no further than the rod tip so we decided to get back up fast as we could before it got any thicker as it was becoming more than a bit dangerous I was glad to see the top of the cliff I can tell you & even more glad there was a path to follow back to the car park so a good day was had by all a few pics of the day for you

Well done on a good report and a nice set of pictures. It looks a bit of a wild place I bet the wind whips round there on a cold day.

Wire your hook with telephone wire fuse wire anything like that so it has something to grip then whip it with bait elastic pierce each end once with a grip lead wire then no more than half a dozen times along its length and round otherwise it washes out too quickly.I sometimes use a razor claw circle 4/0 or 5/0 as a top pennel hook again with telephone wire to hold it in place on the line that way its easy to move if you need but also firm when tightened
