The saga continues. Can a listed building be demolished?  Probably can if it is deemed sufficiently unsafe.

Amazed it hasn't fallen down yet  Exclamation
A tribute to the Victorians that built it.

It would be good if it was to be replaced with a simple walk way structure that went out twice as far  Exclamation
Wouldn't cost the earth and you could fish from it  Wink

I think it can be demolished. It just needs an extra level of permission.

I'm liking the idea of a new pier. Of course that will never happen, but just imagine a pier dedicated to fishing, perhaps with a fishing tackle shop at the end ("Rays").

Very sad news , I learned to fish with my grandad on there back in the late 50`s, you could fish both sides and the end then, great for dabs and whiting, some big ones as well. Our club took it`s name from the Victoria pier, and all the matches used to be fished on there when I started as a junior, if you weren`t in the first 60 to turn up you didn`t get a peg.

If the pier does go it will look something like this

Colwyn Pier to be demolished Pier

But my real concern is for the wild life.
A lot of birds nest under the pier, where will they all go  Question
