Aberystwyth Thursday Evening.
Flagging after a long day I needed to fish
Southerly wind and a bit of a nip in the air
with a towering surf
I’d checked out this spot ( pic is at Low) in front of “The Cambria” next to the pier
Neither equipped nor dressed for taking the surf head on I returned to try it over
evening High
Thought I’d hit a spot not too snaggy but even the pulley rigs were fast being depleted.
Lost several rigs and leads in an hour and eventually out of sinkers, fishing was nearly unserviceable but tried a sand eel jelly lure and also freelining “Ammo” sandeel with just a drilled bullet for company.
Nothing took it, but a passing angler did repeat a rumour I heard last week,
that someone had a monumental 15 silvers off south beach ( or the stone jetty, reports vary)
on sandeel a fortnight ago.
I’ll be back! (
might have to try a float!)
