Aberystwyth Seconds.
Last week's first attempt & blank on this unfamiliar beach left me keen for a second try.
Better tides & a lunchtime recce over Low showed that last week I was casting on to a reef but into shallow water; moving 50 yards left and this week's tides might be more promising.
Hit the beach soon after work. No wind and bitterly cold, High Tide was about 7pm but wanting to watch the TV programme about Colwyn Bay Pier at 7.30 left just 60 minutes to offer frozen lug on a three hook flapper, size 2 hooks and sequins
Uncertain of the ground I used a plain lead, a few tweaks suggested something was about but the hour ticked by without a hook up so it was back over the road to the Marine Hotel.
Excellent vegetable samosa starter, outstanding lasagne & baked potato and a scrumptious blackcurrant cheesecake to finish washed down with a nice plump glass of red. - very nearly asked for seconds.
Gotta be an "F Word" report (Fish !) from down here soon -third time lucky?
