We had a club match at Tan-Lan arches, Old Colwyn last night over low water.
The first hour and a half in daylight was a waste of time, as expected, but when the sun went down the dogs came out to play.
16 members fished, with everyone weighing in, but the only one fish other than dogs was a silver eel.
With our dogfish rule only each angler`s best 2 dogs are retained in buckets for weighing, with all others returned and counted as a kilo each.
The winning bag was 24 dogs and an eel , with 2nd taking 22, and 3rd 20, 4th and 5th had 18 each, and I was 6th with 15.
Quite a few were over specimen weight ( 2-08-00 lbs ) with the best one, 1.28 kgs. ( 2-13-00 )
It beats me why we always come back from our matches as the tide hits the promenade, to find loads of people waiting for the water to come to them, they`ve all missed the best time to fish
