study
found myself reading up on fossils last night and some interesting stuff on how fossilised octopus is more commonly found than fossilised squid because squid live up in the water and to assist buoyancy their bodies evolved containing a high level of ammonia which is less dense than saltwater, but ammonia tends to work against the fossilisation process.

An octopus however lives on the seabed so didn't need the buoyancy and evolved with far less ammonia content and is therefore more easily fossilised.

Science therefore has an incomplete picture of the evolution of these kind of critters 30 million years ago.

I believe the Celts stopped the Romans at the Menia straits.
I wonder if there are any things to be found in that area?
I was restoring a pal's cottage in Brittany a few years ago,the celts were holding a yearly get together that lasted 2 weeks. The music never seemed to stop.
The Celts were pushed out of France by the Romans.
We called at Concarnou,a town a few miles from the U boat pens.
There is a peninsular there that is almost completely full of Celt artifacts.
There's a road down the middle of it,with shops and cafe's either side.
Loads of small boats tied up along it with Hundreds of Mullet around them.
We stopped for a swim near an Oyster farm and I stood on an Oyster, very painful lol!

That’s quite a find Paul a very interesting hobby if your in an area where you can find fossils easily. I see on the news yesterday they’ve found the head of a sea monster half way up a cliff in Dorset.🐙🦑🐊

Not that many thousands of years ago 'Rhyl' was miles from the sea and there were trees where it is now sea ( and still are some ancient tree stumps in the sand)

When it comes to fossils the imagining of the millions of years timescale involved is just mind boggling

I enjoy beachcombing the timeline but I'll give the cliff climbing fossil hunting a miss!
