Talacre today

Had a lovely afternoon on Talacre beach this afternoon. Weather perfect and fish biting. In the 3 hours over low i had about 15 Whiting all of which were of a good size- largest going to 38cm, 2 in size dabs and 4 doggies. Bait was fresh lug and rag on a 3 hook wessex rig with size 1 hooks.

Good session - that last whiting looks quite chunky.

A busy day,nice going.

Went back to Talacre today- 10am low tide so fished 8am to 11.30am. Very cold to start with an easterly breeze- The whiting however where prolific plus a few dabs- Caught at least 30 in the 3.5.hrs most of reasonable size around 27cms- biggest was 32cms all caught on fresh lug. One other person fishing- the walk puts most off however if you can do it- its the best daytime fishing around. Interested to see Splash point from Notbads reports prob will go next week for the night tides. (save the legs lol)

At Splash if you cast as far out as the green triangle High gives you 12 feet of water, night time is usually best but it's a handy "go to" spot in daylight!
