We fished Talacre Saturday evening
Tides was 0.8m low - 9.3m high GD
Low was 18:40
Bait was hermit crab, squid, mac and fresh lug
Done the long walk
Got the tide times wrong.
Intended to fish 3 down / 1 up but got there an hour late so fished 2 down / 2 up
Weed was a bit of a problem
First cast was hermit crab cast out about 50m
Nice start weighing in at 7lbs 11oz and measuring 95cm happy days. Not sure if this is my best hound of the year.
Was fishing 3 rods 2 at distance alternating with a big fish bait every 3rd cast and 1 small rod close in hoping for a Bass.
Very quiet session to be fair but in not sure I was casting far enough as them hermit crabs aren’t the most aerodynamic baits.
Couple of missed bites on the small rod close in but nothing on the big rods.
Hour and a half into the flood had a nice slack line resulting in a 96cm Huss. Couldn’t weigh is as yet another set of scales backed in but I’m guessing around the 8 1/2lbs mark.
On the top hook using squid
Not a bad session even though it wasn’t fish filled but more than happy with the 2 we did get.
Don’t think I’ll be using Hermit crab again though
Might have another pop soon before the hounds disappear
