Strong winds and hail for where I am. I am thinking great day for doing some gardening. Might even get the BBQ out. |

I am thinking great day for doing some gardening. Might even get the BBQ out. Put off cutting the lawn yesterday as a gentle stroll in blustery winds in the Ogwen Valley ( snow on the tops) was rather more appealing. Went to B&Q earlier, they were just assembling the BBQ stand ready for you, then parked on Rhyl prom for a while watching the surf roll in and lightning flashes out at sea, put off washing the car- good decision as a brief but fierce hail storm did the job anyway. |

Got up at 7 this morning to have a game of golf looked out the window just a little light rain so golf on. Got dressed and a bite to eat in the car and off, arrived at the golf club at 8.10 rain coming down like stair rods with sleet. Had a cup of coffee a chat with my mates then the course was closed unplayable so home to sit and look at the rain through the window. So think yourself lucky with 25C and windows to pain I would swap anytime. |

| It was well worth the trip, surf the right side of dodgy, no wind, a bit of cloud cover and swell from the west instead of SW our prevailing swell (the coast is NW to SE) so the current was opposite to the usual, but not strong. Only a couple of others there, so enough room to cast upcurrent for a better hold. After 4 hours 2 snapper 2 trevally and 3 kahawai, I lost 5 fish, leaping and throwing the hook (kahawai) or just falling off, plus a few missed bites. Not frantic but steady, including 2 on at once and I lost both. Along with a few fillets from the freezer enough to smoke this morning with a bit of painting to fill in the time. |
