The target for the day was Pollack arrived at Llam Carw Amlwch at 11:30am and Low water 2.4m. NW 7mph
It was a cracking morning
Fishing on our little JBO today was myself, Dave Radcliff, Dave Roberts and Jordan Roberts
We had parked up to the right hand side of Amlwch Port up the hill and done the 20 + mins walk and a scramble over the rock to our chosen location.
The fishing was very slow with Dave Rad catching a 3 Bearded Rockling early on and I had 2 small Whiting
The main bait for the day was Rag, Mac and the odd plastic and spinny shiny thing launched out. Two and a half ours in and the decision was made to up-sticks literally!!
The plan was formed on the walk back to fish Holyhead Breakwater with the options of fishing either side
It was hard work from the off a tackle graveyard I was working my way through the rigs in my box
Dave Rad was in again with a Wrasse
while I tried everything spinning, jelly things and sabikis to the inside and the out with no action.
I was 6 rigs down and found a single hook clipped pulley in my box
Pimped it up with a sequin and didn’t have much trouble retrieving not sure if it was due to the pulley action or the extra distance I was getting.
5th cast in using my snag free rig
Nice little Pollack of 33cm target achieved I was a happy chap, it had taken it on the drop.
Re baited and cast out again and I was in again on the drop
Another Pollack at 43cm and weighing 1lbs 7oz happy days
Another bit of tip action resulting in
He was a bit small so back it went
It was great day out with the weather and company but was hard going apart from the 2 Pollack.
