Saturday night, at the usual place for Low.
Nice bit of movement on the water and a decent tide, just before Low a sandbank I've never reached before popped its head up for a few minutes and a judicious wade got us out to it.
As the tide turned I plopped the Wormy pulley out into 2 feet of water, all of a 10 yard cast, leaving me to pay the line out as I retreated through the gulley then over a small sandbank through another gulley and on to terra firma with just a couple of turns of mono left on the spool.
Seconds later a cracking bite and I was in to a fish!
Only for the line to go slack, I reckon it shed the hook as it grounded on the now disappearing bank!
No time to mope, quick re-bait, a wade, another short chuck to the same spot and wade back... whoopee no sooner was the rod in the tripod and I had an identical cracking hit! No mistake this time, played it on to the disappearing sandbank and waded out to scoop my prize, half a metre of silver treasure.
There are pics but due to gremlins you'll have to wait for them!(Maestro managed consolation prizes of a dab and an eel, )
