WELCOME, wild North-easter!
Shame it is to see
Odes to every zephyr;
Ne’er a verse to thee.
Welcome, black North-easter!
O’er the German foam;
O’er the Danish moorlands,
From thy frozen home.
Tired we are of summer,
Tired of gaudy glare,
Showers soft and steaming,
Hot and breathless air.
Tired of listless dreaming,
Through the lazy day:
Jovial wind of winter
Turn us out to play!When Charles Kingsley wrote this he must have been thinking of me
Although I'm not tired of the summer yet and the showers weren't steaming either but he was close enough
Went on a Doggie and Bass hunt with me owwd (ode... get it
) Tim and lady Bullhuss Stefanie to Penmeanmawr last night.
The days rain had just about stopped but the Easterly wind just wouldn't let up.
We had a very comfortable position fishing from one of the beach shelters which kept us out of the wind.
I was using frozen lug tipped with squid and even a prawn or two and Tim was using freshly pumped blowlug.
My baits came back in untouched every time whilst Tims were getting mauled which resulted in one missed very big bite
The end result was a very big blank for us both but more importantly it was a great night out with good Ode's
Very nice to meet Lady Bullhuss too and look forward to meeting again on the Shell Island Jolly
Ready aim fire
Base camp
My Doggie bait
Girl bait
Hot sausage and beans kept up my moral
No fish but there's always next time
