15 members including 2 juniors took part in this match, with 2 hours of the ebb and 2 of the flood it was a bit of a gamble where to try, we all had our own ideas and a few coins were tossed.
Dave Elmer followed the mountain goats down the Great Orme and came back with 21 dogs, a wrasse and a dab, to thoroughly kick all our ##rses. With the dogfish rule in force the 2 heaviest dogs were weighed in and the rest counted as 1kg., this gave him a winning weight of 21.66 kgs.
Mike Peters deserved better than 2nd with these from Llandulas,

Somebody had told him they`re edible, I`m not sure I`d try it myself, but I suppose you have to find out for yourself.

Strong tasting fish but it is edible. Try cubes in egg and crumb, deep fried.

Must confess I last ate it about 25 years ago and have no desire to eat it again.

I have found a smoothhound pasty recipe! http://wildfoodmushroomsfishing.blogspot.com/2010/06/smoothound-and-chorizo-pasty-wild-food.html

Requiring so much effort to make this fish palatable is possibly why they are not often eaten.

Well done on the smoothie Mike, a crying shame you couldn't release it though.
