My cousin lives in Pembrokeshire so I usually organises a session with Jim her father in law.  What a treat he had installed for me on this day.  He told me that we where fishing light but this isn’t something I’d really done before so I took 1 light rod and larger light beach rod. Got to the chosen venue after a 20 min walk in bright sunshine. Today was all about Bass but they do get Gilt-head Bream occasionally.
Method for the day was trotting a size 2 hook barbs crushed on a 3ft leader with a 1/2 oz lead on nothing fancy.  Main bait was rag supplied by Jim  cheers  cheers

New venue for me so I’d taken a variety of baits just in case.
Got to the venue and greeted by a number of anglers throwing metals and soft plastics  about .
First cast and Jim was in with a Bass of 30cm
I thought I’d try lug BOOM!!!! Also in on the first cast 43cm

Jim’s method was certainly out fishing the lure anglers and we had non-stop action all session  with a few lost fish due to the barbless hooks.

Not one bite on the big rod all session

As the tide turned and on the flood I was in to another nice fish and as it surfaced me heart was in me mouth as I had lost a few Bass

Not a monster of a fish and weighing 3/4lbs or 335g but gave a good account for itself and felt more like a 2lbs Bass

It was one of my Targets for this year but I wasn’t expecting to catch on this occasion.

A couple of WHOOP WHOOPS!!! Photos, weighing and release made up.   Very Happy  Very Happy

Big thanks to Jim every days a school day when fishing

Yep, another great report!

I fished Pembroke dock one dark Winter's night few years back, I didn't fare so well!
