PostSubject: Some new lead weights   Some new lead weights EmptySun Nov 27, 2016 11:35 am

Got my moulds out to make some new weights,
Last time we made some we did them in my shed, but when I thought about it after and realised
the fire risk, with having paint, fibreglass resin and it's cleaning products in there it could have been like Nov 5th.
It was not a good idea breathing in the fumes either.
Just need a dry day to do them outside.
Last time 4 of us camped in Fowey in Cornwall for a fortnight (two boats)
We took far too many weights,we ended giving them to a guy that ran the campsite so they didn't add weight to the boats on the way home.
He'd put us onto some great fishing spots,I think he thought it was his birthday and Christmas all rolled into one. lol!

We have to choose the time and weather,a thing I have decided this time round is to choose the weights to suit what we need, rather than a selection.
I intend to do a bit of uptiding next season,so some gripper leads with wires are on the list.
A couple of rods downtiding and a couple uptiding will be handy.
Seeing as we normally have to search for water deeper than 60ft inshore,I don't think I will need an big bell weights.
