Girls Rock

Been far too long since we last got out for fishing but we really, really wanted to and made time to get down to Splash last night for the first 90 minutes of the flood

As usual Tina was first in



Jake was fascinated by the 3 Bearded Rockling



Tina is racing ahead of me in our own private species hunt!



As the tide covered the banks we opened the bail arms and retreated from the flood.

One last retrieve and Girl Power hooked another!



I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want, a blinking fish!

Apologies if I have opened a can of worms !!

The three bearded is a lot bigger and more colourful, the smaller rocklings are more duller brown colour. If the smaller ones have 3 beards they are shore rocklings, or if they have 5 beards they are the 5 bearded !!

It`s a 5 bearded, shore rockling are found on rocky venues like the Great Orme or Holyhead breakwater, the ones we get around here are 5 bearded, the two beards on the upper lip are very small and easily missed

All I know is I blanked!
