Brothers in Arms, Day One - Sea Angling in East Anglia
Monday 10th Feb 2014
Time for the all too infrequent trip to the Fens
to meet up with my brother for a fishy fest.
Not without anxious times watching the weather forecasts!
The target for the first day was to fish at Weybourne
Weather permitting Plan A was to fish it up from 10am Low
Bait: Welsh lug with tips of razor/mussel/squid -
topped up with a mackerel and raw tiger prawn from Tesco in Fakenham
We took up a position on the end of the collapsing cliff line in time for Low
For all our concerns about the weather
what little wind there was off shore and we'd a "mill pond situation"
Early knocks proved to be crabs
Then we found the Dabs and Scorpion close in,
Things went a bit quiet mid tide but picked up again for High
When the steep rake of the shingle put a good depth of water
only a couple of rod lengths out
As the Ebb began heavy rain was closing in - time to pack up
and make preparations for a day two
