With being on nights this week i took the chance to go down the river for a few hours as i couldnt sleep in. and to have one last go at the plaice before they disappear to spawn.
Got to my chosen mark half hour before low 2 rods out both with 2 hook flappers loaded with fresh crab. didnt have to wait long and my 1st bite brought in 2 flounder then a single one on the other rod whilst im still unhooking the other.
then that was it more or less every cast for the next 15 minutes so i decided to leave one rod in and just fish with the other. for the next half hour the flounder were coming in in one's and two's every cast. as it slowed down an hour into the flood i had one plaice.
That was it after about an hour and a half i moved to another spot and fished the run hoping for a codling but to no avail. so sacked it after 3 hours and headed home for a nice a brew.
