Boat Project Notbad 1 Update 6 time to think Positive!

Hopefully into the final stages now, and I'm getting wired, I never knew using heat shrink was so much fun!

Not fully home with the wiring yet but the lights are on - well some of them - after I took a deep breath, put rubber soled boots on and connected the battery for the first time...eventually ...I couldn't get the positive terminal on, then I sussed that the negative and positive posts are different diameters and I'd bought two negative connectors - back to Halfords and on we go with this voyage of discovery.



So far so good! the switch panel lit up and the bilge pump hummed.

Haven't quite fathomed it out yet but the original in hull depth finder confirmed that I'd run aground



The radio was hissing ( think I need to swot up on making the aeriel connection instead of doing the bloke thing diving in with the soldering iron and not reading the instructions first )



I need a good rummage to find the Eagle's power lead.





Started on the anchor light tonight, but with the evenings drawing in time was limited.

There was a time I actually used to go fishing instead of messing about in a boat on the driveway!

Found the missing power lead tonight, racing against falling light I did a quick test with crocodile clips and mission control confirms that
The Eagle has landed!

Thank you Dai I appreciate the advice.

Discovering the voltmeter display was a bonus surprise, I'd been pondering wiring in both a voltmeter and an ammeter ( prob still put a charge/discharge DC ammeter in over the winter )
The old car battery was passed it so she now has a leisure battery and as there is a charging output point on the outboard I've plans to fit a charging lead at some stage, the engine is a pull start so battery drain shouldn't be too heavy

All advice on this voyage of discovery is welcome - might as well share the blame around!
