Managed to get a day off today so i thought id take the opportunity to fish low water by colwyn bay pier i fished one hour down and two back up armed with two rods set up with flatty rigs and loaded with jokers sticky black gold plus a flap of squid as an extra attractor
i cast my first line about 100yds out and the second was sent out with a short lob of about 15ft
got nothing on either line first chuck (no surprises there) but on the second cast after 10 minutes a series of small taps on the furthest line followed by nothing convinced me the crabs were busy so i wound in to refresh the bait and to my pleasure there was a small dab clinging on which managed to unhook its self just as i was about to beach the beast but i comforted myself in the knowledge that there was at least one fish out there (cos ive been having my doubts recently)
so after reloading with some more sticky lug i thought id try and get him again but for the next two hours i just fed the crabs
on my last desperate cast before packing up for tea there were more small taps on the close in line more armour plated bait robbers i thought but this time it was a rockling which i was quite pleased with as 1. it wasnt a crab and 2. ive never caught one before !!!
ive had worse days
