Woke up at 2 30 am to do my butties and sort out my tackle i must be mad, left the house at 5 am arrived at talacre at 6 30 am . felt very sleepie and found it hard to pull myself out of the warm car to face the very strong wind and lashing down with rain and sleet ,thought to my self what the hell am i doing on my own here this time of morning in weather like this. The long walk to the green boy soon woke me up ,I arrived at a very angry looking sea my mood soon lifted as i thought codling|?
I soon had my three hook flapper rig cast in with sticky black mackeral and mussel gave it 10 mins then reeled in
next cast i had a stonking whiting at 38 centermeters and a good pound and half
then next few cast baits came back un marked not a sniff and it was a good hour still untill slack water strange. This turned out how the session ran few fish then nothing dont think the extra cold water coming down the dee helped maters,Mostyn was going to be my first sortie but sacked that because of the fresh water.
then i had a full house with another stonking whiting ,lug tipped with a good helping of mussel was the top bait today also had a nice dab to razor. No codling but with whiting of that stamp i wasnt going to moan.not one of my best sessions i had at talacre but quality was better than quantity. my kids will be happy as they love fresh fish ,12 whiting with 3 good takers put rest back 3 dab with 2 takers happy days.Went up to penryn bay for 2 hr each side of high not a single bite ,first time i ever blanked there , better luck next time
happy cristmas and an happy new year tim
