Castwatch Live!!!!! - Splash Point - 16th January 2010

Well, with council funding now in place, tonight sees the very first 'Castwatch Live' event!!!!!!!

The latest hi-tec developments have been put in place.
Castwatch operatives are in position as we speak.

Venue - Splash Point
Personel - Notbad, The Maestro, Tony Parry
Date - Saturday, 16th January
Time - 10pm till late

Pull up a chair, open that bottle of Thunderbird, kick off those shoes and enjoy!

Report from 8pm this evening.

Splash Point - Conditions presented a calm sea and a light mist.

Fishing low up, around tea time this evening.

The Maestro lost a rig early on.
3 casts later he's winding in an empty load when he feels a take.

Lucky for him, he snagged his lost rig complete with a Dab on it!

Notbad managed a chubby Flounder 90 minutes in to the flood.

Caught on Lug tipped with fish.

Notbad and The Maestro nipped back for a bit of R + R.

Word coming in that they are now (10pm) back in place at Splash Point.

Tony is set to join them from 11pm.
High water is a shade after 11:30pm
With a fairly big tide, hopes are high!

They're back!
First cast for both Notbad and The Maestro recorded at 10:11pm.
Fishing by the kissing wall.

Prestatyn Weather is showing a very light Southerly.

4 Fishing now!
Notbad and The Maestro have been joined by local lads, Tony and Jordan.

No fish tonight....yet!

And then they were 5!

Tony Parry has just arrived.
His Tiga headlamp is in place and he's ready to cast out.

That's 7 rods now.

With not even a bite for the evening, hopefully things are about to change.

Tony gets a good distance on his cast, maybe that might be the key?

The wind is still light.
Currently 5mph SW.

Providing a fishing masterclass, whilst all around are blanking, Tony Parry's just picked up another Dab!

After a bracing cycle there and back, i can confirm the point is busy but apart from Tonys Dabs, there are very few fish about and enthusiasm is on the slide.

I'm sure some of the blanks will be filled in when everyone returns home.

I personally have really enjoyed the innagural Castwatch Live event.
It will not be the last!

strictly speaking Tony wasnt fishing splash point though,you seen the bugger cast he fishing in isle of man waters most of the time

It certainly seems to help if you can hit the gully at the end of the groynes.

Or the sandbank beyond it.
