Venue - Rhyl, Splash Point
Tide - High
Time - Night
Bait: Frozen Lug, Frozen Squid

By all accounts, the fishing has been slow for a while now.
A change of tactics was called for.

In an attempt to reach the gully at the end of the groin, the usual 3 hook flapper was swapped for a clipped down Pennel Rig.
I felt that if I could get those extra yards, I could be in with a shout.

The Pennel was as small as I had, with a 1/0 and a size 1 hook top hook. A single Frozen Lug was tipped with a small sliver of Squid.

In darkness, it was hard to tell how far I was actually reaching. It felt further anyway Smile

The wind was slight and from the East. The sea was clam.

Alas, the change of usual tactics didn't work.
2 pleasant hours but nothing to show for it.

Happy Days!!!

Things will change if we could only have a good northerly blow to stir things up a bit.

I cant say im looking forward to our clubs first Winter league match at Pensarn tomorrow night, but theres always the trusty Rockling to rely on! cheers

Me or me Dad will be in touch on Sunday regarding next week.

Mike's attempts to reverse polarity from the flashy light and drive the wind turbines to create a northerly blow have not gone well...

I did see a headlight out by The Alex this evening.
Either The Maestro or Notbad. (or both!)

There was a nice surf rolling in Very Happy

I'm sure we'll hear about it in due course.

I'd personally like fair north westerlies throughout the year with the exception of flat calm every other Friday during the summer Smile Smile

There was another light out West, but come to think of it you could have seen us two working progressively West from the Point and you probably would only have see just one light if it was after about 6 because my headlight batteries gave up tonight, I was very glad of my back up wind-up torch.
