Looks a good ultra light setup. Few spots I can think of where it could be possible to fish for mackerel or mullet.
You could find it a bit restrictive because the max length of line is as long
as the whip itself.So if your whip is 5 metres and held out horizontally,you will only have 5 metres of line,which includes the portion below the float that is underwater.
They have the line as long as the whip so you can swing a fish in directly to your hand so you can unhook it.
I find a spinning rod and a fixed spool reel best for mackerel.30lb braid and a mono feather leader.
I can see a whip being useful for mullet if you are not too far above the water.Even then,the top secton will need to be elasticated to handle the strength of a mullet,or the whip will snap.
