Day 2
we were woken up by the human trawler and insomniac Rob Turner! He’d been out since about 5am or earlier chasing whatever he could down a venue they call Shirley’s beach some 400m to the right of the apartment.
First cast he had a stonker Coalfish weighing in at 9lbs then caught a few Cod and lost another along with his lure. So was back at the digs buzzing ACE!!
Nice mornings work for Rob so thought we would all have a bash by the chalet. No joy for me on the shads after 2hrs so thought I’d try some metal jigs in the deep hole by on the first part of the breakwater.
Hooked into a decent fish

Made up with the 12lbs 8oz Pollock caught on a 15-65g lure rod fish of a lifetime what a fish!
Popped back to the digs by 11am and had me breakfast ready for session no2 of the day at Leksvik Pier on the road by 12
Not much doing on the pier for us
A couple of Dabs, small Codling and my second Haddock of the trip then the hags moved in. Called it at that venue and headed back to fish the opposite tide to Robs successful morning session on Shirley’s beach
Only a short 2hr session as the beach gets cut off as it floods
Second cast resulted in a nice Coley 5lbs bang on the button
Lost one on the next cast
Then Radders hooked into one at 3lbs
Great result and one of my many Norway highlights
The 5lbs Coley next to one Dave Robs 3lbs Whiting!
Fantastic day!
Ending with a trio of Pollock, Whiting and Haddock for tea
