Caernarfon Empty
PostSubject: Caernarfon   Caernarfon EmptyTue Jul 26, 2022 3:53 pm

We fished Caernarfon landing stage ( near Morrisons) this morning, an hour up to High and an hour after - the strength of the tide in the Straits is such that I would not bother fishing here outside this bracket.

A lure chucked out in the hope of a predator ( no takers) and a cut down sabiki rig tipped with half inch pieces of rag dropped down the support legs.

I put the rig down the lee side of the leg, (so switching side as the ebb began)  because the wrasse shelter from the current in the lee.

An hour into the ebb you'd need a jolly heavy sinker to hold bottom in the target area and the weed passing through becomes a pain, taking the fun out of it.

Had about a dozen wrasse, typically within the first couple of minutes of refreshing the rag.

Well done Paul nice pictures. The top of the head can catch you out the problem is we don’t know about it until it’s to late as you can’t see it when looking in the mirror, but once caught never forgotten it can be very painful. Good luck with hat. 🪖🎩⛑🎓🧢👒👑
