Latest news report says that Angel sharks are becoming common in Welsh waters.
They are a protected species obviously and if caught would need to be returned(catch and release)
Has anyone ever caught one ?
On another note,I have never heard of a dolphin or porpoise being caught,
I certainly don't want to catch one of course, but often wonder if they are accidentally caught.

On the Angel Sharks I was surprised to read tgat one of the ways they can verify their presence is identifying their DNA in sea water samples, the DNA coming from mucus or skin cells, given the dilution in the sea that seems pretty impressive

On accidental Dolphin catches I've wondered about that myself

That's the article I saw.
I googled 'Angel sharks'
A team of divers were filming one,(probably got too close)
and it attacked one of them.
Looked like it had just raked his wrist with it's teeth.
I suppose, like most things,if you corner them, they will go on the defensive.
