14 brave souls fished a freezing cold Splash Point over high water.
It was more social fishing than serious fishing. With an opportunity to meet and mingle along with the chance of a fish or two.
With calm freezing conditons and an Easterly breeze, the experts predicted that the fishing was going to be slow.
They were right!
There was some action. The occasional Rockling was there for those that were fishing small enough hooks.
Bob with a typical specimen.
I had my only fish on my first cast.
By the Flashy Light, word had it that the Rockling were more abundant, with the odd Whiting thrown in for good measure.
Hard to make out under the Flashy Light, Notbad, James, Wormy and Headwyn.
Further West, a small contingent from The Rhyl Specimen group were enjoying another reunion. With no specimens on show tonight, the odd Rockling saved the blanks.
Tony with a last cast blank saver.
The best fish that I saw all night was John’s Flounder. Not a monster, but in light of the conditions, a good fish.
Whilst the fishing had not been fantastic, and the feeling in my toes has still not returned, it mattered not.
Great company at a easy access venue made it a great night.
Happy Days!!!
