I haven't been on Rhyl beach for years,and I don't recall ever seeing a Hermit crab there,are there plenty of them these days?
Well done with the dab,got to be great if you forage for bait and catch on it. lol!

Can vouch they are a top smoothie bait down in the solent. Have heard they do not work so well up here.

Can't say I've spotted one on Rhyl beach before - not that I've bothered much with finding my own bait before.
The last one I recall came off a sandbank in the middle of the Dee when the mate whose boat I was on decided to go for a walk!

A Smoothie was what I was hoping for,
nice to catch a fish on it anyway - even more so on free bait.

New pump washers arrived in today's post Smile

I was under the impression that shore crabs were the best bait for smoothies?No need for peelers because they can crunch 'em.
Are you going to put a dab of grease on your bait pump?
