| Thanks Paul,I'm afraid the walk is too far for me these days. I'm stuck with fishing out of the back of my car. Be ok in my boat though. |

| I`d heard there`s a combination lock on the gate, which has been circulating among anglers, hence more vehicles being spotted driving down.... |

| I've just noticed there is no lighthouse at the end of the breakwater, are we talking about the same breakwater? Last time I was there I drove down to the lighthouse almost. Or do I need to go to Specksavers ? |

| Just an illusion caused by the breakwater's S bend.
I think the lighthouse is just to the right of the center of the gates. I am looking at the picture through Aldi 3 for £5 reading glasses though so it could be anything.

| Some might remember the land train that went to the lighthouse at the end of the breakwater for a brief while ( goodness knows how they turned it around to come back, - uncoupled it perhaps, the three point turn in my car was unnerving enough, especially at night)
Perhaps some heritage group could ressurect the original steam railway for us!
The remants of the railway are still there as you walk down to the start of the breakie
There's another option of course, go by boat
Following link about the failed plan for the land train is from 2004 I think.
I do recall it running, think I used it once
