In Arctic Waters, the ' moon and back part two.
With the Flam Railway avalanche cleared we were able to continue our Honeymoon plans via the unbelievably scenic cog railway back up to Myrdal and on to Bergen.

Now we expected to experience weather on our journey north, but we weren't expecting the unbelievably high temperatures in Bergen!
We'd packed for the Arctic not the equator!
In Bergen we joined our floating home for the next several nights, the MS Vesteralen, not so much a cruise ship, more an expedition.
Forget dance shows and dressing for dinner, on Vesteralen entertainment means things like an interview with the engine room crew and
evening dress is strictly casual.

Our voyage through the Norwegian Sea would take us on through the Arctic Circle and onward to the very Arctic Waters featured in the TV series which had sparked our plans, we'd see the Northern Lights, experience a 130 metre boat being taken at speed through a 48 metre gap then turned 90 degrees round a blind corner, see sea eagles, the spot where Tirpitz was sunk, whirlpools and mega currents, make 38 stops in port ( Vesteralen is both a passenger and working boat and some port stops are for only 15 minutes)
We'd be covering over 2,500 nautical miles to Kirkenes on the Russian border and back to Bergen and make new friends including with Norwegian Oscar and his grandmother
- but would we catch fish?
Part three following soon!
