Fishing trip of a lifetime Empty
PostSubject: Fishing trip of a lifetime   Fishing trip of a lifetime EmptySat Aug 25, 2018 6:32 am

I have allways wanted to catch a halibut!

So when I saw an advert in our N Z fishing News for a salmon and halibut fishing adventure in Haida Gwaii, northern BC Canada, I was interested. The company, "Offshore Adventures" is run by a couple who live an hour north of us, they also do trips around the world to exotic fishing destinations.

Judy and I have friends in Vancouver who happily invited us to stay, Judy for 2 weeks and I for the first week and a day after the trip untill our flight home.
The fishing trip was 15th to the 19th of August, and comprised a 2 hour chartered flight to Masset, and a helicopter transfer to Peregrine Lodge on the Naida harbour, plus return to Vancouver and was for four 10 hour days fishing.

The first week was spent doing touristy things with Suzanne and Gabriel, first a cable car ride at Squamish, on the road to Whistler (winter olympics).

One day Gabriel and I climbed Grouse Mountain past the ski field, the only cool day we had, low cloud hid views of Vancouver below

I will get to the fishing tomorrow.
