| A spur of the moment decision had us checking the tide times and heading for Holyhead for the evening flood via Geoff's for some Lug. In view of the walk along the breakwater I picked as few weights as I felt comfortable taking and two 4 section multi tip rods, a few cutdown sabiki rigs, a red gill, a spinner and a pack of Isomes in case the lug got used up. Arriving at the breakie full of excitement ( and a McDonalds) I eagerly reached for the rods but something told me something was wrong... Gnash! in my hurried change of a reel before we set off I'd managed to bring two rods but only 1 tip! All entirely my fault. Oh well the best of plans mislaid and as we expected the Wrasse to be close in Tina would manage somehow and it might give me the edge I needed to win! Haven't been to the breakie since the storm, there is a boom in place along the first section. Small sections of ragworm tipping the sabikis 8 to 10 feet from the wall quickly had Tina finding the first 2 Wrasse I got the third one though! it looks small in this pic because it is. Lost count of how many we had but caught loads and about the same number as we enjoyed the bright sun. The missing tip didn't seem to matter, you could handline them here I had the biggest though, he took some coaxing to the surface Had to handball him up and was quite surprised he didn't drop off the tiny hook And so the conversation turned until the sun went down |

| No worries, I have only just started it. My favourite mark is the breakwater pretty much because of what you showed me. Opened up an entirely new part of fishing for me. http://turnerstackle.co.uk/north-west-fishing-marks/holyhead-breakwater-anglesey/
Just started it, only published what I have done so far to test it out, 6-8 months and I'm hoping it will be awesome for everyone. |
