Yesterday should have been the start of our 2 day isle of man trip
with simon aboard suveran 2 but things don't always go to plan
when your relying on the weather. The thing was we could get
there on the Saturday but couldn't get back on the Sunday which meant Saturday was our
only option so we decided to do a 16hr wrecking trip instead
A few of us are in a WhatsApp group called "THE HAIRY HOOKERS"
and decided to get some t-shirts done for this trip for a laugh
After spending the night at Dave's (not in that way
)
we was up at 4:00AM
after picking Ade up and a quick
stop at Macdonlds we were ready to go fishing.
As soon as everyone was ready we set sail
It would be 16hrs till we saw this bridge again
After around an hour of going out we stopped for a quick Mackerel bash
with Dan living up to his reputation and catching micro Mackerel
Once we caught enough we were soon on our way out to the wreck
At the wreck we we're straight into the Pollock and coalies
Yes Dave that's a lure
After it went a bit quiet so we moved to another wreck which seemed to have
quite a few Pouting on it
which apart from Dave who seemed to like catching
them
the rest of us didn't
It was starting to get warm
( this one is for the ladies
)
We started mixing our rigs up to see what else we could catch
and we caught a few red gurnard , doggies and a few huss
We then moved to another wreck a few miles away and anchored up
this was were we caught the bigger stuff
Andy with 2 cracking Pollock
Jim with the only conger of the trip which was just short of 17lb
Myself,Andy and Dan all lost congers
Tatch caught his first ever Tope
And to all our surprise even Dan caught a decent Huss
It's not true what they say about you not catching big fish
Even Simon got in on the action and caught the only ling of the trip
As we were bringing in a huss a Porbeagle shark followed it up and nearly had it
(Great to see)
it get us all very giddy
As we set of back to Sunnyrhyl we stopped of at two more wrecks where
we caught a few more Pollock and a cod
And Dave pulled this cracking 10lb 4oz Pollock out on one of the last drift's of the day
We had a brilliant day and caught 13 species Pollock, coalies , huss , tope , conger , mackerel , cod
whiting , doggies , poor cod , red gurnard , ling and pouting
Thanks si for another great trip and Thanks Dave for putting me up for the night
