Wrote this once and clicked something I shouldn't have doh!
Thought I would post this as its a little quiet, not wales but close enough on the Mersey. My winter venue as its not too far and seems like its whiting and cod all over in winter. Correct me if I am wrong as I like a bit of variance as long as it not all doggies.
Dressed like a ninja I arrived armed with frozen lug and squid, two rods with 1 up 1 down rigs. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01DNS60CC took 3 weeks to arrive but for the price cant knock them. Got one each for me and the kids.
Anyhow, high tide was 2pm and arrived at 12:20 and was crabbing for 12:30. After 5 mins every cast my lug had gone and the weight when reeling in was a ball of crabs feasting upon my squid each and every time. Littlun said it counts as they were landed.
Tide was a decent size so pull in both directions was a pain, gonna need 2 new rods and a reel I think. One's I have are far too wibbly wobbly for the Mersey pull
Not a bite until 2:30 when a little whiting fell as I was bring it up the wall (I'm having it as a none blanking session at this point)
Between 2:30 and 3pm I caught a few whiting just under size which lifted my spirits and then it went dead, everyone else had left apart from one guy in the distance. To my left a guy rocked up and started setting up as I was packing away. I couldn't not talk to him, I needed to know what he knew that I didnt
I packed up and sauntered over with my last few squid on offer, "your a bit late for the high tide", he told me he hadn't been out since last year due to various reasons and just fancied a session..Knew he was late but just hoped he'd catch, left him the squid, wished him well and stunk of fish all the way home in the car. Job done.
Ok, bit of a stange one but this was on a car park very close by. Thought it would be rude not to post seeing as I took the time to take a pic....
Yes that looks human and its a spent shotgun shell next to it...
