A meeting! Saturday 3rd September 11am Splash Point for High

I will be in Chester for the weekend 3rd and 4th of September and could get up to Rhyl, I am not sure which day would suit you, anyone got any bright Ideas? I will also be there later on in October, those dates not confirmed yet. Rhod

I could work around either September date Rhod,

For Rhod's benefit, Shetlands is like South Island. Not many people live there, but it is where most of the fish are.

Thats a bit of a weak excuse Logger, here I am offering you the benefit of years of research standing on cold wet beaches, and you have another "date". never mind , I hope to be around for some of October as well.
Thanks Paul, we can get in touch before the weekend, we get in to Chester on Wednesday 31, so we can see what the weather has in store.
Mid dayish tides, same as our West coast are big, and as far as I can get at present not too much wind. Knowing forecasts a week out anything can change!

I`m up for either day and I`ve got spare rods etc.

Good on ya folks, Saturday would suit me as well, we have to go down to Rugby and there should be less traffic on Sunday.
I should have most fishing gear, I have a reasonable rod in chester though I have not seen it for 5 years, it is in the loft of my sisters house. Reels I am bringing with me, plus some terminal tackle. We don't go in for those fancy rod rests here, I used to use a hazelwood tripod many years ago, but on beaches here we use a steel or aluminium spike in the sand, but that will not fit in my bag. I have wet weather gear and warm clothes should they be required.
If someone could organise some bait, I think that will cover most things.
Paul, if you could get your phone No to me please, I am getting a sim card over there, so don't yet know the number I will have. Thanks Rhod.

Thanks Musselman, I have not done much fishing in the South island, but our big fish spots are The three Kings Islands NW of the top of the North Island and off East cape of the NI, both are very weather dependent.

Right, who else is for a meet in the Rhyl area with our furthest flung member this Saturday?

Rhod will be enroute now and he has my phone number to make final arrangements but

High tide Rhyl is approx 12.46 in the afternoon

Weather; well who knows really but XC weather says rain whereas the BBC says it won't rain until 7pm by when we'll be long gone.

We have made it, safely in Chester, and online. I will contact Paul later today about Saturday, Rhod

We are meeting at Splash Point Rhyl  at 11am  this Saturday 3rd September,  fishing from the concrete apron above the rocks and below the prom wall to fish up to and over High

If need be we'll retreat from the flood tide onto the prom at Splash Point over High

It would be great if as many of us as possible turn up to greet our visitor and maybe even catch fish!

Fairziff says he is juggling Saturday - look forward to seeing that!
