With the Sole starting to appear in the mersey, myself and Greg headed off to try and catch ourselves one !
As well as small baits close in, we stuck the rods out in the hope of a ray or two.

In a nutshell, no sole
Small whiting and a small flounder took the small baits, but I managed 2 rays between 3-4lb and Greg got off the mark with his first of the year weighing in at 2lb 13oz.

I think we will give it another try later in the month for the sole

A good result whatever was on the hook mate and at least it wasn't Gregs other thumb

Not your target species but not a bad substitute well done
