A New Spot for Spring Empty
PostSubject: A New Spot for Spring    A New Spot for Spring EmptyFri Mar 11, 2016 8:14 pm

Seascale Cumbria.
Hour and a half down to low.
Frozen Lug.

Ive seen people fishing here before but it's a long way across the beach and i'm to lazy to go that far after a days work so I tend to stick to roughly the same area plus it looks just the same as the rest of the beach so I've never bothered but I finished work a bit earlier than normal and had more time so thought I'd give it a go.

I passed this nasty piece of work on the way  Evil or Very Mad

Must have been 400 yrds long  Evil or Very Mad

My idea was to let the rod fish itself while I went looking for fresh lug to pump.

After only finding two worms I went back to the rod to change baits and I just saw the tip rattle a little then it stopped so I left it for a minute but nothing further happened so I wound in and there was a little bit of wieght on the end which I thought was just the lead stuck in the sand but when it stayed heavy after a good few turns I let a little smile cross my face  Smile

A Flounder I thought as it's clean white underneath showed first as it came out of the water but when I turned it over and saw it's red spots I was delighted and had a very big smile on my face  Very Happy

It was just going dark too so I was very lucky I think as they say Plaice dont feed at night  Exclamation

Low water came and went and the flood had begun but I was hungry and needed my supper (bangers and mash  pig ) so that was my one and only fish and my only bite too  Exclamation
Still that's fishing for you and I always think a fish on the first cast is unlucky but in this case I was quite happy  Cool
bye
