Saturday morning saw myself and brother Pete at a rather cold Earith in Cambridgeshire for a crack at the Rainbows
With rain forecast for lunch time paying for just a 4 hour boat session seemed a fair decision.
Word in the ticket office was that Damsels were the way to go but Pete hooked into a Rainbow on a Red Blob in the first few casts and things looked so promising it was released at the side of the boat without a pic
4 hours passed without us contacting another and with the forecast rain arriving on cue it was back to the car for a warming drive to The Fens for a crack at Pike
I opted for spinning a multi jointed plug and within 3 casts had a take, but saw the Pike's flank as it turned and dropped away without hooking up. Couldn't help but wonder if it felt the guard wires on the weedless treble
Meanwhile Pete used his fly rod and tried an unlikely looking yellow peril with a wire trace, with less to snag he was troubled less by the weed
It cast like a brick but it did the job!
Well done Bruv!
