As I'm up in Cumbria working all weekend I thought I'd take advantage of the situation and give Whitehaven pier another go last night fishing

My session started with a nice healthy sausage and chips pig  It's hell working away Wink

I was hoping for a Plaice but had no luck with them but I wasn't to bothered as I was getting a fish almost every cast, 7 whiting 3 Dogs and 1 Dab Very Happy

Not to bad seeing as I only had one pack of frozen Lug geek

I did keep one of the Whiting for bait as there are Bull huss getting caught and I thought I'd risk getting bit by one lol!
I think I may have had one on as something gave a fantastic bite and was very heavy to wind in and it was kicking all the way in but I had some slack line just as I got it to the wall and it escaped Sad
No idea what it was to be honest but I consoled myself with the thought that it was a Huss Rock on
It really did kick and thrash about whatever it was fish

I only fished for 2 hours and even though it was only dogs and whiting (and a Dab) it was the best session I've had for a long time Cool Rock on bye

Forgot to mention that it was so windy I used my tackle box to hold the rod stand down (pic 6)
It calmed down in the last hour though Smile

I have a feeling they may have worked against me this time Exclamation
The Whiting found the bait in seconds and any Plaice that may have been around wouldn't have had a chance and the dogs wern't put off either pirat

Good going Dave, those whiting are a lot bigger than the ones showing around here so far.
