has anyone used Berkley Gulp type artificials with any success?

I'm sure I'm always going to use the real stuff given a choice, but anyone had any success with these?

We had a few packs given to the juniors to use when we fished on Llandudno Pier a few years ago. Ray wanted to see if they were any good.

The kids caught a few small Pollack on them but the fresh rag outfished them by about 5 fish to 1.
