North wales 30/5/15

My hopes where high for finally get my first bass for 2015 as this time last year I had at least 15 by now ..conditions where spot on with a nice surf and a missed bite last session at penmeanmawr .my plan was to fish two hour each side of low at penmeanmawr wile pumping blow ready for a go on the island two hour each side of high ..
I love the anticipation before a session it the best bit in my eyes .a little video

Arrived at penmeanmawr at 1 30 pm got kettle on then set to work . Put sixty pound spectra braid on my multiplier as I've always fancied using braid ,but there no way will I use a fixed spool ..had no teething probs at all and I am converted ..
Two hook flapper size ones,and kept rebating every fifteen mins while pumping , and it was good pumping ,got about hundred good blow lug in no time ..


First cast and this little fellow


Then soon followed by a better flounder

Then it was soon time to go to the island and joining me was got shot Alan ..
Conditions where spot on lovely surf but could have Done with high water being a few hours later as it didn't go dark till a good hour into the ebb tide ..

Long story short it was very hard work as the rain was relentless and the weed was a nightmare on the ebbing tide , had one really good rattle just as the ebb kicked in ,missed it and that was that . That's happened last four sessions now !! Good to see you again Alan even though the weather was pants ...

Well done on the Flounder mate even though it wasn't the target species, the sea looks ripe for Bass too

Nice one Ive been using braid on my multis for years now & love it still got two with mono on but once I run out of it they'll be on braid too just make sure its round profile & you wont go wrong Unlucky on the bass

Well done on the flounder tim no bass but no blank so happy days

nice to catch up with you tim but that wind rain and weed was a bit much and not a whiting to save the blank

Nice fish and photo's, shame the bass didn't show up. I know what you mean with the anticipation of catching that big fish.

A few Bass being caught from what I hear but it's not full on yet it seems

I had that 10lber yesterday and missed another big one

yes we did park in the forestry car park but we went through the dunes and turned right andy by the end of the night i wished i had stayed in the car

Thanks mate,was talking to a local on Saturday and he said 6 bass came off there in the morning all to crab always the way eh think the saying is "you should of been here tomorrow"
