Finished work early today, 08.30 to be precise My plan was to stop off at the Blue bridge Queensferry on the way home for an hour or two then get back on the road before the bank holiday madness started
Ive never fished here before and Im not familiar with the area but I knew about parking at the back of the pub which was easy enough to find but when I got there it didn't help that the access to the river was closed off due to works going on
Not to be beaten I drove along a little further to try and find another way down to the water which was just across the bridge and down by some houses, a footpath led down to the water but the mud by the bridge looked a little much and after a three hour drive from the lakes I wanted a comfortable session and not one where I end up covered in mud from tip to toe so after a welcome ten minute leg stretch along the river bank I found a spot that looked ideal for me
I soon set up and cast in a two up one down rig with frozen lug on board and a 6oz gripper to keep it all where I wanted it as the tide was racing through as the flood began.
I thought I might have trouble with crabs stealing my baits but there was no sign of any as my lug came back in untouched after my first cast
For the second cast I plonked it a bit closer in and more to the left which had the desired effect resulting in a nice plump Flounder
On my third cast it was becoming obvious that the tide was getting far to strong and it would soon be impossible to hold bottom so that was that, a three hour drive for three casts
Good job I didn't blank

Well done mate,if you go back across the bridge and take your first left into tata works there is a grass verge next to a gate on the left you can park on and it's a 100yd walk to the waters edge just in front of the tall trees in the first pic, fish 90 mins either side of low or high on small tides for best results and to avoid the pull

Thanks Andy I'll try that It looked as though that whole side from the blue bridge to the railway bridge was closed off with the works.
